I would love some socks. My feet are cold all the time. I also have lymphoma/Edema so diabetic socks are great they don't cut the curculation off in my legs. Thank you Diabetic Connection for giving me the opportunity to win some socks.

I wish I could give an example! My husband, daughters and grandchildren act like they are behind me and then they sabotage me by bringing sweets home when I don't need them. I am hoping the new year will be better

God gave me my son. Been diabetic since the age of 18 months old and in my 20's I went through burnout. When I found out My husband and I were expecting I turned my diabetes care around. Now when I feel like giving up, I look at him.

The best gift I got this Christmas was a heart felt letter from my 9 year old son giving me reasons why I need to get in control of my diabetes. I was shocked he told me I needed to get healthy so I could see him grow up, and be aroind dor a long time. He said he loved me and didn't want to lose me plus he included a list of what I should not be eating like candy, soda, ect. I cryed so.much and realized I have been selfish and this Is the motivation I needed to get healthy once and for all. Thos is the best gift I gave ever gotten in my life.

My Dr.suggested that my mother and I both get a test done while we were at an appt for me after I had my Daughter so we did and found out my mother had diabetes that day her sugar level was 365 and mine was 95 and we had eaten the exact same foods and amounts all day so my Dr.started her on a pill to get it down and that was at 2pm by 7pm they had it Down to 132 and then we could come home if he wouldn't have done that test that day I wouldn't have my dear mother to this very day and she's 82 bless my Dr Karl Rudat and Dean clinic in Madison ,Wisconsin R.I.P. The best gift someone has given me to manage my diabetes is simply their non judgements, crazy diabetes stories of family members, and openness to understanding the disease that I live with. That is priceless!

Exercise by riding a bike and/or joining health club. Ask others what they eat and look up food articles for low carb and low sugar meals and snacks.

To keep your blood pressure, chloresteral and type 2 diabetes diabetes is not as hard as long as you eat the right foods and stay away from sweets. Taking medication is very important as well to help keep things leveled out. I myself do not have diabetes, but has it and I make sure everything including the meals are healthy and the right ones or types of foods. Some fruit and I have to make sure that we do not buy that type of fruit. Also, I make sure that we do not buy candy or junk food because that is hard to stay away from and I. I have found out that eating small portions during the day of certain type of foods is very healthy and keeps your blood level and down. I am sure diabetes already know this, but it never hurts to hear it from another. I just want to say that this is an ongoing process and a struggle at times especially around the holidays. I guess that is all for today and I want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful and happy new year. God bless you all and please stay away from all the desserts unless they are the type you can eat.

The best person who has helped me with my diabetes is my doctor who sat down with me knee to knee and discussed what carb was.

When I was first diagnosed 32 years ago, I was distraught and terrified and couldnt even do a basic thing like prick my fingers for BG testing. My mother was an angel. When I couldnt prick my fingers, she pricked hers. When I couldnt give myself an insulin shot, she injected herself with water. She showed me that if she could do it, so could I. She gave "the gift" of confidence in my ability to care for myself.
