Just recently lost my health insurance through my husbands employer. He has been laid off since April. Am wondering if anyone knows a place that helps with getting Lantus ( insulin )
at a discount price.

There have been some discussions on this site about how to get free or discounted medications. You may want to search the discussion section to find one of these discussions. Sometimes, the drug manufacturer will help you get your meds at a reduced cost, or even for free. You might try contacting the company that makes Lantus and see if they have any type of programs that would be of help to you.
