I am beginning to understand why I am feeling so much better about my diagnosis of diabetis, quit denying so much, just accepting it and trying to go with the flow, knowing that others are far worse than I! And do you know why? I know that it is because of the POSITIVE input I have received, and observed from this site, and new friends! Folks telling me that I am doing great, am keeping my BS within decent limits, is so much rewarding and inspiring than, "Oh, you don't have it bad, why are you complaining?!" Which only makes me angry and wanting to get worse just to prove to them that I do have a problem, be it small—it can get bigger and I KNOW that I do NOT want that?!

See the difference? Of course not everyone is as bull headed as I am, but surely a positive input helps others too! hugs, Pat Roth

I was feeling really down about my diabetes when I found this site. I felt like no one around me understood. The people on here are great motivaters. Hang in there, don't be too hard on yourself, but stay accountable with your diet. Check out the recipe section on here, they have great desserts for your "sweet" tooth.

Thank you for your input! I figured they had sweets for the sweet on here, I just wanted to HEAR from others, maybe their quick, favorite, and safe, goodies. I will try to figure out how to research the recipes and maybe I can locate something to brighten up our festive 4th, supper, Thanks again. hugs, PR

I've found a lot of encouragement here, too. I'm really thankful for it because my family member who are not diabetic don't understand how serious it truly is. Yes, that one piece of cake CAN hurt me! Keep going and be strong! We're all behind you!

Have a great Independence Day!

Man, I can identify with THAT ONE! Have fun anyway, in your own way. I am going to watch the neighbors' fireworks as I don't move fast enough anymore to get out of the way of the BANG! Think I will also SIP my new found Lipton's Iced tea, sugar free, LEMON< which just hits the spot, for me anyway. And ENJOY what I can!!! —ha—Pat Roth
