You are not alone. I quit taking mine because it is so depressing to see the numbers, and not know why they are so messed up.

This is perplexing. If you are using insulin, you definitely should be able to bring those high blood sugars down. Has your doctor given you a sliding scale so that you know how much insulin to give when you are over 300? Or are you on a set daily dosage of insulin?

If you are on a set daily dosage, then clearly your diet and your dosage are not in correct proportions. You need to talk to your doctor right away. And in the mean time, you can try to eliminate as many carbs from your diet as possible. Stick to lean protein (like chicken, turkey, and fish) and fresh vegetables (but no corn or potatoes).

That should help until you can meet with your doctor.

Best of luck.

Mary is totally right. You need to call your doctor and speak with the nurse. Tell her what is happeneing and ask her to find out if the doctor will see you as soon as possible.

What is your diet like? What medication are you on? You may need to discuss this with your doctor.

In my opinion you should have a discussion with your doctor. He/she may need to change medications. Your doctor needs to know about these high readings sooner rather than later.
