Like I'd introduced myself in an earlier post, and let me repeat…I'm a 40 year old T2D w/ 9 years of uncontrolled blood sugar, complications of microalbuminuria diagnosed in July 2014. Today, I've got back home after meeting my diabetologist + endocrinologist after discussing Mar 2015 test results.

A bit of history:
July 2014: HbA1c = 9.9%, BMI = 34.3 (very similar results for the last 9 years).
Medications: Metformin 2000mg/day, Vildagliptin 50mg/day, Glimipiride 2mg/day, ACE inhibitor 2.5mg/day, Atorvastatin 20mg/day, Aspirin 75mg/day. (ACE inhibitor, Atorvastatin & Aspirin were provided as precautionary due to family history (mother) of heart attack).
joined DC July 2014… got motivated to take control…
Dec 2014: HbA1c = 5.9%, Microalbuminuria in normal range, BMI = 28.0
Medications: Metformin 1000mg/day, Vildagliptin 50mg/day, ACE inhibitor 2.5mg/day, , Aspirin 75mg/day. (doctor removed Glimipiride 2mg/day and Atorvastatin 20mg/day. Reduced dosage Metformin 1000mg/day).
Mar 2015: HbA1c = 5.5%, BMI = 26.2 Medications: Metformin 1000mg/day, ACE inhibitor 2.5mg/day. (removed Vildagliptin 50mg/day and Aspirin 75mg/day)

My doctor is extremely pleased with my progress and further cut down some medications. I've taken up fitness routine and do 1 hr workout for at least 4 days a week.

I want to thank you all for helping me achieve these results. I'm sure I wouldn't have done this alone. I read the posts in DC almost everyday and learn a lot from them. I'm much more confident and feeling healthy now (physically, emotionally and spiritually)!

Now the next battle - sustain this motivation…and look forward to the DC community for the support! Regards! Vensa

Woooohooo Vensa!!! You go girl!!! I too have a BMI of 26 (originally at 36) and aiming for at least 24. My A1c is 7.4 and I want to get it to 5.5 as fast as I can. My physical, emotional, and spiritual well being are good. So we are sort of in the same boat and paddling in the same direction. Hope we keep up the good work..
