About 2 months I wrote a short note saying that I was going to Malta for 31/2 months and I was very scared about my Diabetes and what would happen. Well it has been great and my fasting levels are around 5.5 every morning and evening levels are about the same. I am only taking my level twice a day as the doctor thought I was taking It too much. I have lost 8 pounds since being here and hope to lose a few more. I am feeling great and walk everywhere I go and I have been eating the Mediterranean diet (sort of) lots of fish, fresh fruit, veggies and even today because it is Easter I am homemade pancakes with no sugar and brown flour and they were great and my level was fine. I am confident now that I can travel and be comfortable. Thank you for all your support on my previous note. Justfine.

Oh, that is so fantastic! Vacations are always times to get a way and let your body recoup. It sounds like you are doing perfectly. You have a month and a half more to go and I bet you are going to have a lot of great habits formed that will come home with you.

We want to see pictures!!

You are most welcome Justine!

I take it you are using the mmol/l measuring system rather than the mg/dl ststem of BG (blood glucose). To me that suggests that you do not live in the USA where that system is common.

Here is a converter tool to change from one measurment to another ~ http://www.diabetes.co.uk/blood-sugar-convert...

5.5 mg/dl = 90 mg/dl so you are doing well with your fasting BG levels.

Enjoy your stay in Malta!
