Well my testing is coming in everyday between 110 and below. I have improved my eating now. I have done my excercise everyday now for a month and have dropped 12 lbs. I think the best things I have learned and was amazed at is how much of our foods have sugar in them. Never thought of this tell I was diagnosed. Went to Doctor this week he said everything is good and if I keep this up I will not medicines with diet and excercise. Wanted to let everyone know what is happening lately. I really enjoy reading the post and appreciate everyone's wisdom in this forum.

Howdy Al
I want to say please continue the great work on your BG (blood glucose) levels! Like Lou stated below, it is not necessarily the sugar which will get ya (although the certainly will) it is the simple carbohydrates espeially which will raise your BG readings.

Your 12 lb weight loss is fantastic as it reduces your insulin resistance.

One thing I find curious is that you have up as a tag "type 1 diabetes" but what you seem to suggest from what your Dr said you are T 2.

Anyway I am praying you have continued improvement in your diabetes (no matter what type it happens to be)

Congratulations on the positive results and your determination to take control! Yes, there are lots of added sugars to many of our foods. Also pay attention to the total carbohydrate content, not just the sugars, since carbs are what most affect our BG's.
