I actually have a spiralizer & love it for making zucchini "Zoodles" which we eat raw & sauteed. Mine is the $10 as seen on TV one. My daughter borrows it all the time. If I win a new one, she could keep my old one!

My favorite and most used gadget is my mandolin. I love its versatility it had 5 blades and cuts veggies beautifully for all purposes. My favorite dish is homemade potato chips, thin sliced and baked.

What's a gadget? My garlic press, the one my mom bought for me because it won't break, I've used for decades and wouldn't be without. But the most indispensable item in my kitchen is my 7' Rada chef's knife.

My favorite kitchen gadget is an old Tupperware party giveaway - the orange peeler. I still have a drawer with a few of them. It is made of orange plastic, looks a bit like a toothbrush. The end where the brush would be has a teardrop shaped piece you use to cut a circle through the skin. The opposite end is slightly curved and slim. You insert it into the cut and work around the orange just under the skin. Voila - it pops off the perfect orange peel cup. Fill it up with oil and instant orange scented candle - BONUS!

I would love the spiralizer because as a diabetic I watch my Carb intake closely. I crave pasta and sauce and feel this would replace Carb cravings with vegetable pasta so to speak. My most useful kitchens
gadget is my crock pot. I have one in every size and use one almost everyday. .

My most favorite helpful kitchen gadget is my collander. I have different sizes and use them everyday. After soaking my vegetables and fruits in hydrogen peroxide and water, I use my collander to rinse them, not to mention draining hot veggies and rice noodles. I cannot eat gluten, so the gadget that turns vegetables into noodles would be fabulous and most helpul! And my family loves to eat a lot of noodles in their Oriental and Italian dishes! This would be a new and innovative way for healthier eating! One I have been wanting for some time!

I have a very flat and thin metal "spatula" with rounded corners and a cheese slicer near the handle. I use it for all sorts of things, including cutting and serving food portions easily and without a mess.

I am very sensitive to carbs, so I am unable to eat any breads or pastas at all. I am interested in learning about the spiralizer.

I collect unusual or old kitchen gadgets. My oldest is from the 50's - it is a hand cranked whisk, has 2 paddle blades that turn, similar to an electric hand mixer. I just found out I have Diabetes 2 and this would be great to fill my pasta can't have void with veggies!

I don't use a lot of gadgets, but I am curious about some of them (like this awesome spiralizer… how cool)! A vegetable slicer has been the most recent helpful gadget that I was introduced to. It saves so much time and has different attachments based on what size/shape you want! A spiralizer is sort of a similar idea, but way cooler because it can be used to substitute healthier options for pasta! :)

My favorite kitchen tool is my juicer l love vegetables. A spiralizer will be perfect for myself and granddaughter as we both like vegatables and noodles and eat veggies for health reasons.

Cooking is an adventure for me. I need to replace onions with onion powder, eliminate fresh peppers and limit fresh garlic (I usually replace with garlic powder). Allergies to these veggies makes eating a study! My favorite kitchen gadget (after microwave, toaster oven, Nu-wave cook top, WOK, and Foreman Grills (small and BBQ) is my "Pop" something…it is a thick plastic opener that pops the lids on jars, breaking the vacuum seal, so it is an easy twist off. Just love that thing with arthritis in my hand and after 4 hand surgeries.

I recently bought a 'personal' blender. The purpose of the blender is to make individual smoothies and such. I can blend up what I want quickly. Everyone else can make their own recipe, and I don't have to spend my time on them!

My salad spinner is the most useful tool that I have. I eat salads everyday to help keep me feel satisfied with my low carb diet.

skyhighbs 2015-04-19 08:38:02 -0500 Report

My favorite kitchen gadget has to be my food processor. Trying to eat healthier means incorporating fresh vegetables into my diet. This means lots of prep work, slicing, cutting, dicing, chopping. My food processor does all this for me in seconds. Now instead of lots of red meats, I always include carrots, celery, and mushrooms in almost all my recipes. Not to mention how fast it is to make a salad with at least 7 to 8 ingredients, without adding bacon, croutons, and loads of fattening dressings to get great taste! And yes it does make a difference, in taste and calorie, and carb wise.

I recently swollowed 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide by accident. Burnt my esophogus and stomach. Looking for healthier, better ways to eat. This turning veggies into noodles is an absolute awesome idea. Now that i have to be careful of what i eat even more this would be a fabulous gadget to have in my kitchen and would help me tremendously on my way to healing and health. Thank you One of the best kitchen aids i bought was a Ninja. It is like an oven, crockpot, fryer, and baker all in one. Way healthier eating.

I am learning to cook all over again now so I'm seeking new kitchen items to aid me in this brand new diabetic journey I'm on. I bought an expensive juicer from Bed Bath and Beyond. This item is wonderful. Now with the addition of diabetes in my personal life, noodles are a favorite carb for me as a runner. If they could be vegetable, this would be a good homemade plus to my efforts in managing my condition.

Tough choice, but I must sing the praises of my Pampered Chef salad shredder. I do not enjoy large pieces of lettuce plopping off my fork and onto my chin.

My grater is my most helpful kitchen gadget. I use it for so many recipes to shred, grate, and slice… I would love to win the spiralizer and cookbook. I rarely eat pasta unless it is gluten free and I love vegetables, so this would be a god-send. :)

I have not had pasta for years because it does not sit well with me. I have been looking for this and I did not even know it. Using vegetables to replace the pasta is a great idea. My husband loves pasta, but since I can't eat it he goes without. This would be great for us. Right now our favorite kitchen gadget is the slow cooker. We put stuff in before work and when we get home we have a nice hot meal. I would like more info on the vegetable spiralizer cook book also.

I would go with my iPad, even though it's not really a kitchen-specific gadget. It's definitely a necessity to either display recipes or a tv show while I cook.

Between my kitchen scale and my chopper, it's a toss up. The ability to accurately keep track of how much I'm eating and the ease in chopping foods into the right sizes for a dish is just fantastic.

The most helpful kitchen gadget ever owned is my Crock Pot. I have two sizes and it makes entertaining so easy. I worked all my life and had to provide meals for a family of four so the crock pot is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Over the years I have adjusted recipes to accommodate my diabetic husbands needs and as a result we have been eating healthier for the past
several years. I purchased the inexpensive Veggetti gadget and use it often but am thinking about the newer one.
