Although most of the interviews at the World Diabetes Summit seem to have been geared to type 2s the first few days…Todays lectures have much information regarding type 1…please go in and give them a looky…especially Dr. Bernstein who is himself a type 1 diabetic…I admit as much as I respect the man he is "older" and a little slow getting to the point…BUT he does get to it…and his interview is well worth the time…also they have some great dieticians discussing type 1…had to post this because even though I am type 2 I cant help but notice that type 2 is really discussed more in interviews…

I have mad respect for Dr. Bernstein as an innovator and pioneer of diabetes treatment. He was my introduction to aggressive diabetes management, but he is a much better read than a "listen".

Reading Dr Richard Bernstein's book "Diabetes Solution" was a turning point for me in how I was dealing with my diabetes. I started following a low-carb approach then which has enabled me to keep better control! I'm a fan!

Gary Scheiner is another of my favorite diabetes authors. His book "Think Like a Pancreas" is my "go-to" manual for information about how to manage my diabetes with insulin. He rocks!

I enjoyed his interview. I loved his meter! LOL He is a brilliant man, in that he thought so outside of the norm for his time and he truly cares about his patients. His determination brought all of us so much better self management.
