Let me start by saying that this is for information purposes ONLY..I am NOT suggesting that anyone disregard the advice of their doctor…get what you will from it and bring any questions you might have to your doctor…

Howdy Jib jab
I watched him and what I dislike about what he says is he uses the "c" word for diabetes. What he seems to not realize is that if one eats the way that the did pre-diabetes the diabetes will return. That to me is not a cure but simply a maintainence plan. His plan seems well thought out and may help folks some but to use the word "cure" is not helpful.

In one of his online talks he defines his use of the word "cure" and he does acknowledge that it would mean maintaining the new lifestyle. A definition I am more than willing to accept … also that it may not be possible for all people to be "cured".
If I come across that talk I'll try to remember to post it.

That I find is the one thing that turns people off…I cringed when I hear it myself…to me cured means I can eat anything I want and not have blood sugar spikes…but what I think he means by the word cured is that you have your BG under control without meds..he also speaks of de fatting the liver and pancreas…and restoring beta cell function…I do believe that deep down inside he believes that if you correct the liver and pancreas issues that some people get enough beta cell function back as to not techinically have diabetes anymore…When we think about it..BG is the ONLY factor by which we diagnose diabetes by…so once the BG levels are non diabetic..he considers it cured..by his use of the word cured…I am cured…I don't feel cured lamo…BUT I am not giving up on the thought that if I continue to treat my insulin sensitivity through diet and fasting that I can bring most of my beta cell function back…I mean I have only been fasting one week…and bam…73 this morning,,,

I started watching the Diabetes Summit today. I missed some of it because of being away for my step-mother's funeral. But I did manage to watch Dr. Jason Fung this morning before his presentation was taken down (Yay!). I have quite a bit of him bookmarked online to watch later. I am really looking forward to tomorrow's speakers and will have all afternoon to listen to them. :~D

Dr. Fung is very impressive. Another speaker today (I can't remember which one) briefly addressed the issue of Dawn Phenomenon which I struggle with. I am going to try what was suggested for a few days to see if it makes a difference.

I am so glad you told us about this event. I'm in a bit of brain fog right now, I've listened for hours and am trying to absorb it all. I don't agree with everything I've heard from every speaker but I have learned so much that really makes sense. Time to begin working out an improved plan for myself.

You are still in my daily prayers in regards to your step-moms passing,,,You were blessed to have her…Yeah todays interviews are a snore..I watched a few of them..had to have my son pinch me a few times..(jk)..The last day of the online Summit is a repeat day so you can make notes of which lectures you don't have time to view and hopefully catch up on them that day..including the ones you missed yesterday..
