Hi everyone, I just got prescribed invokana from my doctor. I am not to sure about this med. I have not heard good things about this drug. I have called two drug stores and they said that they just had 1 person each and that type of med. and maybe I should call my doctor and talk to him about it. I was wondering about people who have been on this med. and their experience on it.

Thank you

I have been on the lowest dose of Invokana for several months and I have had no problems with it at all. It does help keep my BG levels in check. There is a class action lawsuit going on here in Canada right now, though, for folks who have developed diabetic ketoacidosis while on Invokana. I'm guessing those folks took much higher doses than I am. Hope this helps!

this is one of the newer diabetes drugs out there so maybe that is why? Go online and read their info on it and side effects. All these diabetes drugs have several side effects, but diabetes is very serious and you should do what you think best WITH your dr. to combat it. Also, depending on where you live maybe not many people are on it yet OR many insurance companies limit you to these new drugs that are out and if you are on a better insurance you can get it. There are many factors. I know my dr. has suggested it, but she allows me to choose what I want to try. You might be able to go on it until you lose weight or get better than try something different or less worrying to you? Have a frank discussion with your dr. and dont be ashamed to bring anything you are feeling up. I just got off the new Tanzeum which did a number on me but I am also very sensitive to any drug and are on many for different conditions. Good luck.

Sorry Doggier
I have no experience with this med. I did query Google re Invokana and found this site where it is reviewed ~
I have kidney disease for which I need dialysis, so it is contraindicated for me. It is my feeling that anything which messes with your kidneys should be avoided. But that is simply my feeling and has no science or experience to back it up.

I pray the reviews helps you.
