Celebrate 75 years!

Every year, the ADA and many sponsors pair up to raise money to help stop the spread of diabetes. You can find a national team or make one of your own. It's easy to register and fun to get out there and walk for an additional purpose.

You have time to get your walking legs in shape as it's not until November. But you can register, get your team together and have a lot of fun advocating as you go.

That great but I'll be walking 4 cancer . I was told late last summer my cancer has returned . I'm not sad about it . I just don't want 2 do the chemo . I was told by the Dr. that I have 2 gain 20-25 lbs. At the beginning of summer I weight 160 & thought I'd lose some weight. I dropped those 25 lbs by the end of summer. I went 2 the doctors because I wasn't feel well. He did a blood test & the next he'd call me 2 do more blood testing. After that I was told my leukemia came out of remission . All I do now is sleep most of the time & if I feel like doing some surveys I do a few. Also last summer I retired from driving for a living. Now I wish I could be driving, as a long haul driver I now miss the open road. I wish everyone in the end a Happy walk !!! Peace-Out

When I lived in New Hampshire, I participated in several of these walks…I will have to check if there's one nearby me in West Central Florida. Besides the ADA, the JDRF also has fundraising walks.

Never did it before but I am planning to do it this year. Meanwhile, I do notice that when Sam and I go walking in the shopping malls, holding hands, and talking about everything and nothing as we walk, I lose weight and my blood sugar is down. So we walk at least 3 times per week for at least one to two hours each. I guess this is also helping me to get ready for the ADA Walk for Diabetes. Maybe I will gt to meet some of you there. That would make it more fun for me.

We have had a lot of members in the past do this and some of the team names were a lot of fun. It's a great way to make some lifetime friends and serve with a purpose. This is the first year I have 3 in my state and maybe one I can actually get to. It should be fun.
