The closer I get to surgery, the more nervous I get and it is giving me the munchies. I want all the bad stuff I am not supposed to have. I've been able to resist somewhat because I don't want to throw my bg out of wack before hand. It got so bad today I went in and started cleaning the bathroom. Lol. Tomorrow will be the last trash pickup for me before I leave the house for a few weeks, so I want to get out as much trash as possible. Can't seem to sit still today. Got more stuff to do. Check with y'all later.

Hi Sue,
I know you feel you have every right to be nervous and you do but don't be. Your surgeon and you have both prepared for this moment. I just know you'll do fine. My prayers go with you…VL

My answer is buttons.
Actually, I found a new craft to do and it keeps my mind and hands busy and keeps me out of the pantry. My latest photo in my profile page is a sample of what I am talking about. It is just gluing buttons.

That may not be your thing, but finding something to keep your mind occupied and off the upcoming event can really help. Find an outlet somewhere. Cleaning the house is a great one, and very productive, but you can only vacuum the rug so many times. Finding something you can do now and also after the surgery can really help you keep sane.

Before I vacuum the rug I have ti find it. Lol. Cleaning the bathroom is much easier. I decided last night that I needed aoither pair of footies to wear, so I'm working on that, but I need to start getting things packed up and in the car now. Also have some clothes in the back seat that are intended for goodwill dropoff. I wanted to make some green earrings for St. Paddy's day, but don't really have the right beads for itso guess i'll cross that off the list for now. Tell me I cannot take too much stuff with me. I will not be gone THAT long! Lol Tomorrow is pre-admit, don't know what kind of tests the Dr has ordered for that, but will be fasting in the AM just in case. I'm rambling…just nerves. almost there.
BTW, I have lots of buttons.

Your doing a great job by keeping busy, I'm really impressed how well your doing so close to the date. I know when I had my knee surgery I was a total basket case, I ate everything in sight. Try some sunflower seeds they are good and like sweets said take a while to eat so seem like your being bad longer. It won't be much longer now.

I don't know what kind of surgery your having, but try and not stress out. I know, I know easier to say then doing it. I've had plenty of surgeries, and I stress over all of them!
Just please try and relax… :)

Hey, Sue. I understand those nerves. Munch on some celery with some natural peanut butter and eat sunflower seeds (they can take a while to eat a handful). I also ate sugar-free instant pudding—sweet and made me think I was being bad. Take deep breaths and long warm baths. Hang in there.

Better to not sit still than to sit and munch. Hang in there. This will all be over soon.
