Had a little money left in the bank today(a week before payday, so after my appt I stopped at the grocery store. Needed dog food, but I just could not resist the bananas. It has been so long since I had a nice fresh one. I know I'm supposed to stay away from them(too much potassium), but they were just calling my name. I figure half a banana in a smoothie will be ok if I don't do it every day.

I just bought three banana's first time in over a year I've had banana's in the house. I plan to cut up 2 in small chunks and use them with a chocolate/date/coconut oil recipe I found for chocolate sauce (i'll let ya know if it's any good) and the other one cut in thirds for smoothies.

You is such a bad girl. You know with your kidney's in the shape their in the last thing you need is to add potassium to the mix. Not to mention, banana's are full of sugar and will more than likely raise your BG, quite high…Atleast they do me and most diabetics I know. Did you know James has severe kidney disease. He follows his kidney eating plan 100 %. As well as follow his diabetes eating plan to the max. I am sure those banana's were calling to you but for the sake of your kidneys and your diabetes ease pass them up next time. I care about you and your health. Hugs. VL

When I make a smoothie, sometimes I use about a third of a banana with some cottage cheese or unsweetened yogurt. Half of a banana is too much sugar for me. The added protein helps.

I will try only using 1/3 and see how that works. Like I said, it won't be everyday. I'll cut them up and freeze them.

Bananas, bananas, bananas—one of my ALL-Time favorite foods. Now is cut them into chunks, freeze them, and have a frozen treat maybe once a week if I have been really good.
