i am a type 1 diabetic. In May of 2014 I had my very first surgery ever. I've had diabetes for 30 years. I found an open wound on the heal of my left foot that was black and smelled nasty. When I went to the doctors I had a fever of 102.3. Time for a hospital stay. It is finally healing with care of my mother and my doctor. Right now I have a pick line in my arm and I get antibiotics every day. Please take good care of your feet and your health

Did you not notice it earlier? How did it end up being black and smelly? I'm not being mean to you, I just want to know it I could of missed something like that on my foot. I feel badly for you. Are you gonna end up with surgery or amputation? I am praying for your heel right now. To me it sounds devastating, you are a much stronger person than I. Please let me know how you are doing.
Lots of hugs and prayers headed your way!!

Ty very much! What happened was the skin peeled off. It bleed a bit and then I didn't know that it got out of control. I don't have an infection now and it's closing up just right. I do have one new problem. The wound has developed a blister around it. Will see the doctor on April 1 for a check up and we will see what will happen next.

Sorry to hear that you've had to go through this, I'm glad to hear that it is healing finally. I hope it heals quickly. Infections like that do take a long time to get healed. Best of health to you.
