My extra virgin olive oil is Pompeian, but my every day oil is Daily Chef distributed by Sams. While not on the fake list, it's also not on the good list either. Is there a way to tell, since the oil masters are the ones who are creating part of the problem?

I knew that oils that came from China were filled with other oils, so I started reading ingredients. How are we supposed to really know when the ingredients say 100% olive oil but they might not really be.

I am disappointed that Bertolli is not...I have used that on occasion.

Amazing Fake OO. Recently read that most of the honey we buy is fake as well. They use high fructose syrup. What will they think of next?

I stopped eating honey years ago because of that…I wont buy it in the store..The only place I buy honey now is from the farmers market half way between New Orleans and Mississippi…whenever I pass him I buy 4 huge jars…2 for my daughter and two for my hubby…was so happy to find him when I moved down here…HIS honeywas the only honey I would eat…until I was diagnosed…sigh now I am back to not eating honey..

I make my own honey...well, my bees do. So now I don't have to worry about that anymore.

Living in Florida, we have flowering plants all over almost all year long, so they get a huge variety. If you look on my profile, in my pictures you will see some pictures of my bees. This will be the first year I harvest honey from them. It should be interesting.

Should i respond to this? Nah. I savor a teaspoon once in a while. Prefer to splurge on honey than ice cream, cookies etc.

respond to what…my desire to indulged in cheesecake but NOT honey…Atkins cheesecake is full of fat and only has 4 net grams of carbs per serving..I am pretty sure the entire carb count is something like 9 with the rest of the carbs coming from the fiber in the nut based crust…honey has way more carbs and spikes me…atkins cheese cake doesn't…hee hee..did I answer your not asked question…

I just bought for the first time, Atkins dessert: peanut butter cup. Not as good as the real thing, but not bad and helps me to have the taste but not the calories and carbs.

I'm using Pompian Oil so i guess i'm okay? I got a good deal on it at the store about a month ago it was on sale, so I got it then. Until then I'd been using vegetable oil (ewwww) cause that is what I had in the house. Glad i got the "good" stuff.

This is SO not cool. Is NOTHING safe to eat? Of course, the expensive, organic brand that I just bought is on the bad list. :~(

sorry…sad face…but at least you know not to buy it again…
maybe you can google to see if they changed suppliers…this list is from the end of 2012…but I wouldn't hold out much hope. Because most people still don't know about this and it is all about the green…

Terrible that people are paying a premium price for Olive oil…and instead pouring garbage on their salads…I have only been using the Pompeian (spelling?) brand for years…because I saw this on the news years ago…

Try using coconut oil. It works great on salads, for grilling or frying, and even a little bit in your hair for shine and to keep hair from looking frizzy. Never knew one product to have so many good reasons to use it.

I use coconut oil for most of my cooking…and YES I do use it on my face neck and decollette .it is wonderful..my daughter wanted to know what I was using..because every woman knows it is their neck and D├ęcollete that give away their age…my neck was fine..but my declollete was beginning to show signs of aging from too much sun…I was using argon oil for about a year..but she never mentioned a thing till I added the coconut oil…Argon oil at night..and a touch of coconut oil in the morning..yep yep

Does the coconut oil work on wrinkles? I have wrinkles on my chin and neck that I would like to rid myself of. I already use coconut oil on my hair for shine and to keep away the frizzies.
