Hi,
I am new to the community. I had my last test a few days ago and my A1C was 12 and my fasting sugar was 254. It was very discouraging. I know that I lost control of my diet and am determined to get back on track before my next test in May.

I love your profile pic and hope that is truly your mantra. This is also a journey and you, not unlike many of us, have lost your way for a while. I get tied up in the brambles more often than I care, but this group of great people always guide me in again.

How can we help you get to your goal by May?

Thanks so much! Yes I want to enjoy the journey. I just need to say good bye to food that doesn't benefit me. I have a family history of diabetes, so for me I thought if I feel good and take my meds and stay active I should be fine. I am not overweight so I thought not watching my diet wouldnt hurt me, but the numbers don't lie

Yeah, those dang numbers. I think my meter lies to me some days, but then I know it holds no grudge....

Howdy Steven
WELCOME to DC!
What had your Dr told you to do? How long have you had diabetes and what type are you? (no info on your profile).

Do you have any particular questions for us, or did you just want to say "Hi"?

I pray you do "get back on track" soon.

James

Thanks! I am type two, I have had it for about 7 years, when I was first diagnosed I got my A1 down to seven, but after that I just fell apart. Right now I am taking 2,000 Meg's of metformin, 10 of glipizide, plus blood pressure and cholesterol meds. I just wanted to say hi, I also know I will benefit from a community .
