frustrated and baffled.

I continue to be frustrated on the weight loss issue. I am doing the right things, eating better, walking more. The clothes are looser, the skin is looser; I am apparently losing mass, but the scale continues to laugh at me. Before being dx, eating all the bad-for-me stuff, I was not gaining and over 5-6 years lost 45-50 lbs. Now I am eating less and better, sleeping better, can't say I walk more because in retail you are on your feet all the time…and barely 10 lbs off in 6 mos? Can the insulin really make that much difference? I must say also, that weight loss has never been easy for me. I guess in addition to insulin resistant I am weight loss resistant. Whoopee! Can't they just give me a pill with all my daily requirements and cut out the food altogether? I'm taking a handful already, one more won't make any difference.

LOL, I love the pill idea. Though for me, it would have to be crunchy so I could at least get that in.

Weight loss is way more than a number. If you are feeling better and your clothing is telling you that you are being successful, then just don't fret it. I remember when I went to my doctor in a size down of pants I was so excited, and the scale said no change. He was upset with me, and I was just upset. But the size down in pants was real, so I just ignored the issue and kept on doing what I was doing.

You are more than a number....always remember that.

Crunchy and chocolate covered. Thanks for reminding me I can see the change in the mirror, but I'm fighting for every ounce. Might look into bowling again, I used to enjoy that.

Some one showed me that you should try coolscuplting. You need to check into it. I have been the same weight for the last 20 years. I do what I'm supposed to but the weight won't go anywhere. I have decided to talk to my doctor about hcg shots everyday and vitamin B12 once a week.

I know what your saying, I can walk past a cookie and gain weight. :) losing weight is so frustrating, I can eat salads all day long and gain weight. I am so hungry for a bacon cheese burger and chilli fries…I would rather take a shot then to swallow a pill. I hate pills…

Hi Sue,
No you can't take a pill to loose weight or to take the place of food . LOL. You may need DX to cut the portions of your food down. Are you keeping tack of your carbs well. A low CARB diet only works if
the carbs are under your weight loss amount. Mine is 50 to 60 carbs
pet day. If I go over, I don't loose…period. Contact James, ask him for his meal plan. You will loose weight on it. I promise.. Hugs, VL

I'm really glad James' plan has worked for him. I have seen it in an older post. Since it is vegetable heavy, I'm sure it is a good plan. Plain and simple, I don't like veggies so I'm just going to have to figure it out for myself. I'm sure there's something that will work for me and I'll just have to keep looking until I find my own way. It may be nuts and berries with the occassional chicken or pork thrown in, maybe a little cheese too. I'll figure it out eventually.

I totally understand your frustration. I do not like vegetables either. Sometimes I will plateau on my weight loss for a couple of months, and then suddenly lose several pounds. What is working for me right now is not only watching my carbs, but watching my calorie intake compared to calories burned during the day. I cannot totally cut out the carbs or I will starve, but I do try to keep them under control.
