Is Lantus considered good. I do not see it in the top ten on your website

I have been taking Novalog and Lantus since last Aug. It does take time to get things under comtrol, but after 2 mos of diet and insulin my numbers were already dropping and in Dec my A1c was at 6.4. I do make sure to have a bedtime snack to avoid "dawn phenomon" which a lot of pwd seem to experience. I have been lucky not to. My bs are pretty much in control for now and I pray they will continue to be so. How long have you been using it?

When I was on MDI (Multiple Daily Injections), I used Novolog for my meal-time (bolus) insulin and Lantus for my long-acting (basal) insulin. It worked very well for me. In 2011, I decided to try pumping insulin and pumps only use a fast-acting insulin, delivering tiny "basal" doses throughout the 24-hour day. I still keep a supply of Lantus insulin pens in case my pump fails/malfunctions and I have to go back to MDI until I get a replacement pump…but that hasn't happend yet. As with any medication, some have experienced allergic reactions to it. My vote is that Lantus is good.
