Hi, my name is Nick and I have two relatives with type 1 diabetes. I am currently a graduate student and I have been working on a project at my university to develop an app for people living with type 1. We have talked to a lot of people for feedback in person, but are trying to reach a broader audience and have developed a survey to do so. We think we have some good ideas, but we could really use more insight from people living with type 1 every day! We are not trying to sell or promote anything. Thanks for considering and taking the time to help out! Survey is at this link: . Whether you choose to participate in the survey or not, I appreciate your candid feedback here in the forum as well! Is there something you wish there was an app for that would be helpful?

All the best,

I've filled in your survey and hope my answers will be helpful. In addition to functional elements (tracking food/carbs, blood glucose, insulin dosages, etc) It occurs to me that this would need some kind of fun element to keep your users engaged. Perhaps as a reminder widget, you could use some kind of cute character to interact with. I do know that some of the time I feel less social when I am too busy or not feeling well.

Great advice, thanks Panda99! You're absolutely right, we need an engaging element to motivate continued use. That's an element we're working on but, admittedly haven't nearly perfected. Glad to hear you think it is important!

Is this limited to type 1 participation?

Hi Gabby, for now - yes. We hope to expand our efforts to type 2 eventually, but our initial focus is on type 1. Thanks for asking!

I had just checked out the survey and realized I could not answer your questions to help out.

I see, well thank you for trying! When we are ready to branch out into type II, we'll be glad to have your input :)
