Sorry I haven't been on for a couple days..very busy writing two papers and watching the grand kids…BUT my son found this great wrap at the store today. My son says they are AMAZING!!!.He is low carb but has moved on to maintenance on atkins..lucky him he can now eat 90 grams of carbs a day…anyway…I wanted to share in case those among you that eat grain products and don't already know about this product would like to try it..
Flatout Flatbread…light orginal..made with 100% whole wheat flour..
90 calories..16grams of total carbs..9 GRAMS OF FIBER…(for those of you who count net carbs)..and 9 grams of protein…pretty cool…as for me I wont even try them…or maybe just one a month or something since I found out that I can have some occasional wheat without it spiking me…
AND if you decide to try them be careful they have several different products..some higher in carbs than others so make sure you read the label..

I actually tried one today with shrimp salad and kale for lunch…I enjoyed it very much and it didn't spike me…and I was still able to stay under 30 net carbs for the day…happy happy…

We have those here and I have used them in the past. There is a spinach one that I like a lot. I don't do them now, but that is tasty

Haven't heard of them but willing to try anything at least once. Do you get them at the regular grocery store or must you go to a specialty store?

I will have to see if I can find these. I have not heard of them before. I have been eating whole wheat sandwich thins, but they have a few more carbs than you listed for the flatbread. I love to save on carbs everywhere I can.

Hi Jibber,
I looked up the nutrition label on the flat bread to see how they made it low carb.
They use oat bran to replace some of the flour, that is good.. The other item they use is cellulose. Cellulose is the cheapest most abundant fiber on the earth. The body can do nothing with it so it has no nutrients. It also doesn't raise blood sugar. Food processors use cellulose to "stretch" their processed foods to make them more profitable but with less nutrients.
I own a diabetic bakery, I use oat bran, flax seed and Hi maize 260 to lower the carb count probably as low as the flat bread or lower. I no longer eat my own bread. If I did I would have to take more insulin. I will have a sandwich in the summer if I am raking off the gardens all day. If I made my bread lower in carbs, which I could do, it would no longer be bread. Maybe I need to try making flat bread? You have given me an idea.

I used to eat those all the time, I love them ! I'm actually considering bringing them back on board as an occasional thing. Yup, I agree, very good.
