Trying to keep down my weight and manage my eating habits. Walk everyday, at least, 5 or six blocks and try to eat right each day. I drink diet soda almost everyday. Question is, is this good for me or not?

Oh my dear, diet soda is not good for you, especially the dark ones (Coke, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi). You can use them to clean the carberator of your car. If you can do that, imagine what it is doing to your tummy.

for what it is worth … I lost 165 pounds while drinking diet sodas and using aspartame in my coffee. not advocating their use but for me they helped in losing weight and I feel the advantage of now being at me ideal weight outweighs the possible risks of the sweeteners.

As far as weight loss goes the so called "diet" sodas can put on the pounds instead of taking them off. This has been shown in studies and in my own personal experience.

You may wish to consider this before consuming the diet drinks ~

Thank You! Jayabee52 after reading the link that you sent on diet soda, I was sick to my stomach. How can such a product be so damaging to the body I had six cans of the stuff left in my refrig and got rid of them all. Thanks once again, for the advice.

As Jibber Jabber said, diet soda has no nutritional value. Because of the sodium content, it doesn't even help with hydration much. Your best bet is to drink water. You can add lemon slices or cucumber slices for flavor. I drink a lot of decaf tea too. My favorite is decaf green tea with lemongrass.

Thanks, Pegsy for your feedback, Although, I drink water a lot I also favor soda from time to time. I will take your advice on the water flavored and green tea though.

I use Dasante water flavoring. Love the pineapple coconut flavor as well as mixed berry and strawberry kiwi. I did get tired of plain water and this has saved me and allowed me to drink more water.

I have been know to partake in an occasional diet soda…maybe once a month…and when I buy them I just buy a single serving NOT a big bottle…I know better..if it is in the house I will drink it…the problem with diet soda's are two fold…first..if you are trying to kick a sweet tooth..drinking diet soda does not help…me I have accepted my sweet tooth and make low carb versions of my favorite sweets…but soda, even diet soda is a horrible thing to put in your body..I dare to say the worst thing you can put in your body..it serves no purpose, has zero nutritional value and study after study says it harms you internally..(just look at how it takes paint off of cars, and cleans rings off dirty toilets)…yet another problem with diet soda is that the body and brain are very complicated..it is not like the diet soda goes through you like a glass of water..Your brain senses the sweetness and carbonation in the soda and in many ways treats it just like a regular soda…which means it can stall weigh loss ..something none of us wants..

thank, for the reply Jibber Jabber, I started drinking diet sodas sometime ago because I was told that they were sugar free and that was good for my condition, (diabeties ), Although, I know better. Thanks again for the advice.
