I am watching The Chew and Dr Phil McGraw is the guest today. He just said that he is a diabetic. I didn't catch what type he is.

Howdy Bre
There are a lot of folks today who have diabetes, they are just not vocal about it. I did an informal fact gathering at one of my church's lenten soup suppers. About half of the folks there have diabetes. Though most of them are older folks.

Hi both James and Brec
I was fully awake…what I meant was so what..yes he would make a wonderful spokesman but that's all. Just because he's. a star doesn't't make him anymore special than than either one of you that speak out and
carry diabetes. Your both more important to me than he is. That's what I meant. The difference between us and him is he will probably have a chef cook for him. Your important too. Hugs and love, Vl

I watch his show and take everything he says with a bit of skepticism but he does make some good points. I applaud his wife Robin for creating the "When Georgia Smiles" program for those who suffer from abuse. Dr Phil has a large fanbase and as such he could help a lot of people.

You lost me too sweetie. can't determine what you mean. Perhaps you can come back and edit it when you are more awake.

I found out today that I am not a type 2 but type 1.5 LADA. I hadn't ever heard of that before. So I guess it's safe to say I'm type 1. Not sure what this change will mean to my health and the treatment.

there is definitely a type 1.5 LADA, ask your doctor to explain more about it. There is a lot of information online and here in DC about it. It is more similar to type one than type two, but not the same. I don't know the particulars. Sorry I can't be of more help.

He would be a really good spokesperson if he would talk about it more. BTW, I just watch The Chew because it is on before my soap General Hospital.

if we are voting … Halle Berry would be my choice … and she really doesn't even need to say a thing ;)

Hmmm, nope, she doesn't have to say anything. She does a lot of work though for the cause. She's one of the most upfront about it in the Hollywood scene. Nice to know your nice girl is a good girl. LOL
