Me Day

I have been the only female in a house of 4 guys for the past few days. My husband, my son, and 2 of my grandsons. Yesterday I got up, ate the delicious breakfast my son had cooked, took a shower, and disappeared back into my bedroom. I slept, watched TV, got on my laptop, and hung out in there all day. A couple of times my husband checked on me to make sure I was ok. Just fine I said with a smile. I freeze a couple bottles of water every night so it will stay nice and cold for a while so I had my water. I would come out long enough to eat, let everyone know I was ok and go right back to my bedroom. I got rested and thoroughly enjoyed my "me time". Didn't have to spend a dime. It's good to take a day to oneself every now and then.

Amen! We get so caught up with life we forget to take a breath. Even if it's just for an hour, it's important for our mental health as well as physical. Very important for new moms. Husbands, hear this. New mom's need to refresh, let your wife take a nap, get her toes done, do the dishes for her, take her out to dinner. Let's all take a break. We need it.

I do that once in a while, but I struggle the next day with all the things I should have done instead of lounging. How do you overcome that part?

Gabby, I try to make sure that any important things are done beforehand and anything else can wait. It does help that I have my husband to help me get caught back up.

My hubby is getting better about helping and it does make chores easier...but I work for myself and I work most weekends and the deadlines never wait for me. LOL

I live alone, and have weird sleep schedule (up at midnight) so I have plenty of time alone, but sometimes my day does get busy and I seem like I'm over run with people and places. When that happens, I definitely enjoy a day home alone with just the cat and pup and vegging out in front of the computer. Sometimes I think that is why I got my weird sleep schedule, so I can have that quiet time alone between midnight and 7am when no one bothers me, the phone doesn't ring, and there is no where to go. I'm glad you got some "ME" time. Its really important. Heidi

This is my busy season at work so badly have time for date night with wife. My me time is fishing or getting to visit our land in Wyoming.

I am sorry to say that I can take a day like that whenever I wish as there is no one else in my home except my dogs for the past five years since my husband died.

On the good side, I have met and been dating almost daily a new gentleman. We will see where it goes but he likes me well enough to want to see me daily so that is a good sign. Except that I no longer have me time. I will have to make a compromise with him.

Might I say, that while he is 10 years older than I am (but younger than my husband was), he is also a Diabetic so he goes along with my many rules as to what to eat, when to exercise, etc. He is happy and so am I. I have had me time all week as he has had the flu since Sunday. Tomorrow I am invited for the first time to Shabbat dinner at his son's home with the whole family. I am a bit nervous.

All the best to you and your gentleman friend. Don't know what I would do without my husband, He has been my rock.

I will be doing the exact same thing today while the males in the house watch the Super Bowl!
