Back in July2014, I was on 2 insulin pens. I lost over 40 lbs.since then started watching what I eat and started walking and now I do not take insulin nor medication. It is a great sense of freedom. I still have to test 3 times a day. So far so good. If I can do it you can too. God Bless!!!

Congratulations on taking control of your diabetes and learning to live well with it. For Type 1's like me, we will never be able to stop taking insulin if we want to live but I'm glad that some Type 2's have that option. What we all can do with the right food and exercise choices is increase our overall sensitivity to insulin (whether naturally produced or injected) and thereby reduce our insulin (Type 1's and some Type 2's) or eliminate the insulin entirely like you did (for some Type 2's).

Congratulations, that is wonderful news ! Keep up the great work. I'm working hard on my weight and on keeping my numbers where they need to be. Maybe someday I'll get off meds, but I'm not too worried if I don't. God's best to you. Heidi
