I was diagnosed with mild Type 2 Diabetes 9 months ago and have been able to control my blood sugar with a low-carb diet and exercise. My most recent physical showed that my cholesterol has gone from 191 (pre-diagnosis) ito 221 in the past year. I thought that this might be because I've been eating a lot of cheese, given that it has no carbs, so three days ago I eliminated it from my diet. My blood sugar had been averaging 120, but now I often get readings in the 90s, which is great, but makes me wonder if it has something to do with dropping the cheese. If not, what could be the explanation?

Yes the Cheese does explain the Cholesterol as cheese, even low fat. has fat. As for the dip in the BS's yes that is possible but only as a side effect I would say. It might have to do with what you are eating instead of the cheese or eliminating what you used to possibly eat with the cheese. Good luck Anon.
