Can I have a vacation from diabetes and health issues? Right now I don' t want to think about sugar levels or blood pressure or eating right. I just want to curl up and make it all go away. If I had any good drugs right now, I'd be using them. Stupid Tylenol is worthless. Just remembered I bought a diet Dr Pepper earlier. Going to drink the whole damn bottle. Haven't had any in so long. And chocolate. I need chocolate therapy. Something totally bad for me. Too bad there's nothing in the house.

If you can figure out how to take a vacation day…please let me know (after you get a patent …money is good)..there is this German Chocolate cake that has been trying to seduce me for several weeks at the local supermarket…

Well, I tried but I never was very good at being a rebel. I missed my insulin twice yesterday and didn't eat much(in spite of what I said) And what I did eat was legal. I was just feeling a little blue and worrying over stuff. Maybe tomorrow I'll have some answers. I'm just not good at waiting.

Ahh vacation, the "sweet" sound of bliss. LOL.. But, in all seriousness, probably not a good idea to veer/vear? from medicating.

I hate to be a party pooper, but a vacation day is not a good idea. Here are some of the reasons. You will load your liver with glucose and it will plague for more than one day. Your body gets used to not having certain things, like soda and carbs. Soon you won't miss them any more. If you play around with vacation days, your body never adapts and you are starting at day one all over again. Make your diabetes and health issues a challenge that you can meet head on and conquer. You will find that you will feel good about yourself rather than feel like a failure. I am rooting for you to take charge not give in. You can do it.

Try the dark chocolates, They are not that bad on carbs and if you have them with a little peanut butter, they are quite nice. You can have up to 3 squares of most of them, and you really won't want any more than that. So that is not a bad thing.

Taking a day to kind of feel normal is okay. But just remember that the day after vacation is always harder to get back into the swing of things. There is nothing wrong with a bend in the road.

The chocolate sounds delightful, have an ounce or so of nice dark chocolate and curl up on the sofa under a warm blanket and turn the lights down low. Now that sounds wonderful to me. Ahhh heck, who am I kidding, I'd probably eat the whole bar of chocolate ! Good luck. Heidi
