ok to eat a meal bar at supper

I have been eating a special k meal bar at supper. my sugar stays down and is down first thing next morning. when I do eat right at night it will go up but not high high. I just don't know if I need to be doing that or what

I really try to avoid that kind of food. If I don't make it myself it needs to be used with caution. I have never been a huge fan of meal bars or even snack bars. I would rather eat an apple or some cheese or something.

The trick is if your numbers are where you want them to be. If they are, then it works for you. Just always keep in mind to retest now and then, as that can change.

I have to agree with Heidi here. As a diabetic you need a high protein diet. Low carb as well. Which a Special K bar is neither. Your bars
would probably be fine as a snack. Certainly not as a meal replacement. REGARDLESS as advertised. That is for the non-diabetic. Just my opinion but worth thinking about. VL

Personally, I think you get more nutrition from a regular meal than you do the meal bars, but that is just my opinion. The bars in my opinion are great on occasion, but shouldn't be used for every meal. JMO, Heidi
