So I did my taxes online tonight…I ate dinner at 6 as usual..went for my walk…tested two hours after dinner..came in at 112…(yay me)…then it started…I had all my tax papers all lined up…everything was under control…took me two hours to finish..but I did it…I cursed…I screamed…I even yelled at my poor hubby..but I got it done…my son was laughing the entire time..he thinks I should just hand over my papers to a pencil pushing math geek at H&R Block and have them do it…so he walks over to me and asks to me test my BG again…he was curious…I had shot all the way up to 147…the highest I had been in forever…yep that's what doing my taxes did to me…I am better now and actually laughing about it…

I caved a few years ago and I have H&R Block do mine. I have business stuff in there, and the last thing I want is an audit. Talk about rising glucose levels, I bet that would be a killer. LOL

I used turbo tax again this year…they didn't charge me a red cent…last year they let me do my federal for free and charged 25 bucks for the state…this year I was
expecting the same and was shocked when it was completely free…I don't know if it is just a Louisiana thing..or all the states are free..but yeah…25 bucks to me is two pounds of nuts…lmao

Well I usually have people asking me to do their taxes..It starts as soon as the Calendar flips to January…I even have a very good friend who still lives in NYC that has me do his taxes every year…the funny things is ,,,I don't get stressed when I do theirs…I use the paper work they give me…easy breezy…and THEY KNOW they better give it to me in order and labeled..When I do mine it is different..because I am always wondering if I forgot something…if there was a deduction I could of taken and didn't…and god forbid if I know full well that I had a deductible expense and cant find the receipt…the entire world stops and the house gets flipped upside down till I find it..

Oh no. But usually mine is more the candy bar wrapper. Chocolate is my downfall. I've gotten really good at sugarfree chocolate pudding. I keep telling myself that it's as good as a Snicker, but self knows I'm lying. LOL! Night night for now. Off to bed. Have a good one.

Stress will definitely mess up the blood readings. For a while I was super stressed out. Now I finally seem to be getting it back under control, Funny how stress can send it out of sight and without even eating that cookie that was calling to you.

Interesting because I notice when I am stressed my bg goes up also. Last week, my numbers were high one day and I did not understand why till I realized I was stressed.

Good thing I don't get stressed often…I tend to blow things off…I have one question I always ask myself before stressing something…Is it going to matter a year from now…if the answer is no..I don't give a flying fig newton..

Pegsy 2015-01-20 06:05:36 -0600 Report

I wish I could learn to just blow things off. But alas, I tend toward stress and it sends my glucose soaring high. You can sure tell when things are going well in my life because the numbers really come down and will stay that way until the next stress event. You definitely not the only one!
