before the birth of my first child I did a lot of research about diabetes and pregnancy. I had heard a lot of stories that worried me and so I wanted to get all the information I could. I found that there just isn't a lot of information online about the realities of a pregnancy with type 1 diabetes. So my first pregnancy was my education. Luckily for all of you new moms out there JDRF has released a pregnancy toolkit for moms with type 1 diabetes. It has some good information that I wasn't able to find elsewhere very easily. Here is the article with the link. (disclaimer: on the JDRF website it takes you through checkout as if you were purchasing something so you have to provide your address. But it is a free download if you are will to share that information.)

That would be nice is to have some sort of education about expecting mothers with diabetes. My mother was diagnosed with diabetes I believe in her late 40's early 50's, and now I was diagnose with type 2 in my early 50's, so is it passed down to every generation, I heard my mom once say that it hit every other generation, but I was hit with it as my mom.
