Hi, I am sorry I have been gone so long. I did not have this site in my favs. so I had trouble finding it. I had my check up. My a1c has gone up from 5.6 to 6.0. This makes me nervous since I still am not on meds. I have lost weight. 10 pounds at that time and another 10 a week later because I have a severe bladder and kidney infection. I hope I can get well and keep losing weight. That would be a plus.
Then, just after seeing my doctor for my check up, I was cutting my toenails and I cut the end off my toe. I did not even feel it. It just bled hard. So I guess the neuropathy is worse than the dr. and I thought. I have missed everyone and I hope to hear from you.

sorry to hear about the toe and the A1C going up. Congrats on the weight loss, though I am sorry you had the infection and lost it in that way. I sure hope that your A1C will go back down on the next visit.

Glad to see you found us again!! Don't loose us again, lol. I know I would go crazy too if I did not have this on my favorites section, but I also have a auto thing. Sounds like a fair AC1…so don't worry so much there. Though I can see why being nervous without medication yet would be so. My finance also is not on medication and we get worried too at times when his sugar is running high. He missed his appt recently but goes back next week…dunno if he'll be put on meds then so we'll see. Anyhow, it does sound like a BAD case of neuropathy. How is that toe feeling ow? Or can you even feel anything still? I hope all is well there. And also with your infection. And yes your reading could be wrong due to infections. Good luck, keep us updated! *Hugs* Sheila

Wow, sorry about your toe. That is horrible.

Your A1c could have been affected by your infection also. When our body is out of wack that way, it could be that. You are doing all the right things, and sometimes, even when you are, it doesn't work out the way we would like. I tell you, I would love a 6.0. Mine only went from a 7.4 to a 7.3 on my last visit, so I have some work to do as well. Just keep on doing what you are doing. No need to panic.
Good to have you back also!

as long as you stay below 7. or close to it not a big concern. just got my results back n not doing so well here. my previous A1C was 8.1 and this one was an 9.9 . Following back with my dr next week. david

6.0 is still a good reading. You need to stay below 7.0, so you are well below the limit. I just found out that I have the beginings of neuropathy. I had my first experience with the bleeding tonail a couple of weeks ago. I felt it, but the bleeding took forever to stop. I still have good circulation in my feet. I did order diabetic shoes. Being sick may part of the cause of you not being able to loose some weight. Don't let it get you down. Things will turn around for you. We are here for you.
