1/3 cup heavy cream..3/4 of tablespoon of 100% cacao sugar free herseys chocolate powder…2 packets of splenda…whip till thick…oh sweet lord in heaven…best dessert since I found out I was diabetic…but now we wait to see what is does to my BG levels…hee hee…everything is a test for me…

I am new here. Sounds like Jibber Jabber needs to check out some Paleo recipes. I made a banana bread (actually muffins) the other day, no sugar,stevia, or splenda ( I hate anything artificial). My whole family loved them, even my hubby who could lose a few pounds. They were light and fluffy. 4 eggs and 4 bananas. Maybe still too many carbs? A little coconut flour. I would have to find the recipe… No other flour. That would not be Paleo.

sounds wonderful…but I do not eat banannas…waay to many carbs…I have looked into the Paleo diet..and incorporate some of the recipes into my menu…but I require a LCHF diet..many of the Paleo recipes fit into the same parameters as LCHF, but many more are way too high carb for me..

I made a cheese cake topped with raspberries yesterday. I put Hi maize 260 in it. 1/4 cup. I had it before bed. My blood sugar was 73 this morning. Actually I had three pieces yesterday. One to taste it, one with my diabetes class for whom I made it. The third piece before bed. I was so full yet this morning I didn't want to eat my usual nuts for breakfast. It has no sugar of course. I made the whole thing in my food processor. The crust was ground pecans with a little butter. Yum yum!!!!

Any simple cheese cake recipe of the interne will work.
Just grind up some nuts with a little butter for the crust.
Substitute Splenda for the sugar and add 1/2 cup hit maize 260.
Put what ever fruit you like on top thickened with corn starch and sweetened with Splenda.

Hi maize 260 is resistant starch fiber we talked about a little recently. But look it up. There has been much research on it and it helps with blood sugar a lot. The cheese cake should not prevent weight loss for you as it is extremely low in carbs and it makes you so full, you eat less other food. A customer of mine a guy lost 30 lbs just putting the stuff in his smoothie. It is dose dependent, that is 2 to three tablespoons per day. A little sprinkle doesn't do anything. Two to three tablespoons per day
is quite amazing.

Hey RosalieM, Since you talk about the use of Hi-Maize, I had to do some digging to learn more about this ingredient. It turns out that it is used in a lot of processed foods. The material is corn bran, which is the tough fibrous outer layer of the corn kernel. And while it has NO effect on blood sugar (neither raising or lowering), it is used as a fiber bulking agent. You can review the data and report that was submitted by the manufacturer, Z-Trim Holdings, to the FDA to receive acknowledgement that the material is GRAS (i.e., generally recognized as safe).

That is not the stuff I am talking about.
Google Hi maize 260 and you will get the real information. There has been much research done on it. It is a resistant starch fiber. There are copy cats out there too.

I don't agree with Dr Oz a lot, but he has it right on this one. However it is dose dependent. A little dab won't do ya.
I do have a low carb diet as well. Two pieces of cheese cake yesterday and blood sugar 59 this morning.

never tried the Hi Maize, but including Fiber and resistant starches in my daily diet have helped keep my BGL in line … that and keeping under 50 carbs a day

What kind of resistant starch do you use.
That is what Hi maize 260 is. It is a brand name. See it works. I use a lot of flax seed ground and oat bran too.

I eat uncooked rooled oats and flaxseed meal (that I grind myself) every day … not as high in RS as the Hi Maize 260, which I have looked at but can't afford.

well I went all the way up to 132…and I don't was worth it..may of just been too many carbs at one time for me..I ate it right away after dinner…but as I said…DON"T CARE!!!…was too good NOT to eat..and as long as it didn't put me at 140 or higher..I keep it in the menu as a treat!!!

Avoid brown sugar Splenda like the plague. It is half sugar.
Don't use Truvia either. Use plain Splenda and plain Stevia

I have been switching over to Nectresse (monk fruit) and PureVia lately in order to stay away from artificial sweeteners. But if I do have to have one, it's going to be Splenda. I love their Brown Sugar Blend and haven't found anything to compare with it. Your recipe sounds delicious (chocolate fanatic here too) and will definitely try this one. <3

I have so much brown sugar splenda left over from thanksgiving…I used it in my sweet potato casserole…now it just sits there..don't eat sweet potatoes anymore..sigh!!!..but yes it is yummy..

I use Nestle's sugar free hot chocolate powder and either Silk almond milk or Silk coconut milk for a great drink especially when it is cold.

I mixed sugar free chocolate pudding with cream cheese and whipped fresh cream and made "hersey" kisses…had to freeze them to get them hard…next time I am going to just use the cacao powder…less ingredients..the fewer the better..

I am very low carb…come on…repeat after me…"how low can you go!!!"…but I make sure I eat a dark green salad and 1/2 cup steamed low carb veggies with BOTH lunch and dinner…if no salad 2 1/2 cups servings of different color veggies..

Today, I went to Shabbat services at my synagogue and then they had a luncheon with their new caterer. It was devine!! Three kinds of salads - none of which had iceberg lettuce - with all kinds of veggies and fruits plus a quinoa-couscous with mandarine oranges that was fantastic. What a yummy lunch. I had never had any of the salad combinations before nor had I had that qc dish that I loved. Have to try making it for myself.

I put the powdered hot chocolate mix in the cup, put half a cup of almondmilk, stir it until the powder is saturated with the milk, then pour in the hot water and stir again. I use the biggest cup that I have. YUM
