Terrific article, and info that all should be aware of.
I am extremely weary of oral diabetes meds. Maybe I'm biased, but I'll briefly mention my experience, and why. 5 years a go, there was a cyst found on my pancreas. during a 4 year period, and as determined by endoscopies, 4 more cysts appeared.
At this point, and with my doctors approval, I stopped all oral diabetes meds, and began an insulin regimen. I year later and after stopping diabetes oral meds, 4 cysts magically disappeared. Was it a coincidence, what do you think ?

I think we are all smart enough to of already known that this crap goes on…as for me…my doctor wrote a script for a statin…I told him to keep it…he tried to write a script for an additional diabetes med…I scoffed at him…I wont take any more medication than is absolutely necessary…I wont touch ANY new drugs…and will research any new script that I am told I have to take in the future BEFORE putting it in my body…I don't trust the medical establishment as far as I can throw it..and I certainly don't trust the FDA…it is all about the great American greenback…

(Steps up on soapbox) Medicine and pharmaceuticals are a FOR PROFIT industry. Most, if not all, medical schools are funded by pharmaceutical companies. Pharmaceutical companies apply a LOT of pressure on doctors to prescribe their products. I am not saying that all drugs are bad. Many are good and necessary. But the industry PUSHES a lot of unnecessary and dangerous drugs on the population. (Steps down from soapbox)

This is why doctors spend all their time trying to treat symptoms instead of making us actually healthier. Even veterinarians do the same thing.
