I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes at the end of September 2014. At that time my AC1 was 12.1% and in December 2014 my AC1 was 6.7%. Then in January 2015, I noticed that my numbers were higher and I wasn't doing anything different. On January 6, 2015, I found out I am about 5 weeks pregnant and I am very scared/ worried for my baby's health.. My doctor says that it's great I got my numbers under control and that I need to keep doing what I'm doing : nevertheless I am still considered a high risk pregnancy.. Has anyone gone through this?.. Becoming pregnant with Diabetes?..

I had 2 kids and I'm type 1. All you can do is keep your bs under control so baby doesn't get real huge that last 6 weeks or so of gestation. Baby will still be on the chunkier side cuz that's how we diabetics do it and baby will most likely be on a drip. Even my sister who is t2 had to have her babies on a drip after to get their sugars up. Nature of the beast. There are a lot of things that could go wrong in pregnancy in general, don't be scared and just do what you know need to do. I had my son 30 days early and he was 9 lbs and 15 oz. my daughter was 27 days early and my sugars were better controlled with her and she was 8 lbs and 13 oz.

I have not, all I can say is congratulations on your pregnancy. Keep your numbers in range as well as you can. And best of health to you and your baby. HEIDI
