Just got back from seeing my neurologist. He put me on Tramadol to control the Occipital Neuralgia. Do any of you take it and how has it affected your BS levels.

Hi Bre, I have chronic nerve pain in my knee from multiple knee surgeries in 2011. I am on 50mg Tramadol twice daily, I can take up to 4 a day, but I choose mostly to take only two a day as it seems to be enough most days. I've not had any problems at all with BG levels, i stay between 80-120 unless I eat something funky. It works well for nerve pain. Like Sweets said, I'm sure there will be some withdrawal symptoms when or if I come off from it, but for now it is with me. Good luck on it. Heidi

Hi, BreC. I took myself off my tramadol 2 days before Thanksgiving. I was only taking 1 pill at bedtime, but I was just unhappy with the way I felt during the day. I decided to go without it, and I am so glad I did. Even though I was taking a very small dose, I experienced withdrawal symptoms for about 2 days. After that I felt more energized. I will have to be hurting pretty bad before I take tramadol again. It did not seem to affect my BG levels, though.
