I've just noticed that the predator blogger (troll?) recently plaguing our site and her discussions have been removed from Diabetic Connect. Thank you Admin., for listening and for taking action! I also learned a new term TROLL ACCOUNT. Here's the Wikipedia definition: " In Internet slang, a troll (/ˈtroʊl/, /ˈtrɒl/) is a person who sows discord on the Internet by starting arguments or upsetting people,[1] by posting inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community (such as a newsgroup, forum, chat room, or blog) with the deliberate intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[4]" Despite my 65 years, I'm never too old to learn. Now, if I could just learn to ignore the trolls…something to work on.

Before I vowed to stop checking her blog, I found a google blog help line where she was asking about the legality of what she was doing. She told them she hadn't referred to us by name after they advised that she shouldn't and that she should also get permission prior to posting anyone's replies. She must have gone back and edited her blog entries to camouflage the ID's. I have a hard time believing that someone can be so disagreeable and that anyone can take her seriously…although she did get me going, which was probably her aim all along.

Thank you DC/Alliance Health for stepping in and taking action. Your efforts are noticed and applauded.

By visiting her blog to see what she has posted are we unwittingly enhancing her blog value? (Please enlighten this 65-year old techno-challenged diabetic) While I may be curious and tempted to revisit her blog, I don't want her to derive any benefit from my actions.

"if the shoe fits wear it" is an old expression that means "If something belongs or pertains to you, accept it"
If you don't know what I am referring to then it doesn't apply to you and have nothing to worry about.
The post is merely a portion of the Alliance Health terms of service.

sorry … that comes off as rude … my post is about the practice of copying forum content for use on another site … here is a brief summation of my take on that practice:
I actually own and operate a popular online forum and have for almost 15 years. My opinion is that content posted on a forum is either the intellectual property of the poster or the forum it was posted to and is protected as such (I can argue both sides) … either way … I believe that copying that content to a 3rd party site is a violation of copyright laws (and a really lame way to get content for your blog).
Anyone that cares to discuss this further can contact me via private message.

I honestly thought yo were talking about me who just passed an e-mail that came from my friend to me and I passed on to DC because I thought the friends that I had made would appreciate it.
Therefore, you were definitely not talking about me as I don't belong to any other group. The shoe definitely did not fit.

Were you talking about me? Was I doing that by starting a discussion of something written to me? I really don't know how this works.

RebDee…he is NOT referring to you. A new member here has a blog. She has started some discussions here on Diabetic Connect and when we've responded to her discussion here on Diabetic Connect, she cuts and pastes those replies to her blog and makes additional comments. When I discovered this, I was upset. I have blocked/reported her and admin has her on their radar. It appears to be a way for her to embellish the value of her blog.

I had the same situation (i.e., cut and paste, including misrepresenting what I stated) when I shared some personal information. As others have said, I believe that this site is a safe place to share with others who share our metabolic deficiency (i.e., diabetes) the trials, tribulations, and successes that we have. We share not to be judged, ridiculed, or misquoted but rather to assist others and let them know that they are not alone in their experiences or sufferings. Others have had the same problems/issues and are glad that they can share to help others.

01/08/15/ I APOLOGIZE To anyone if I offeneded you all under ANY circumstances pertaining to my comments, the answer to your question is that I wasn't properly told how to discard my lancets and or my test blood strips.
But what I do is roll them up in kleenex or tissue really good and dispose of them in the trash, I have a bathroom trashcan at home and empty at leat twice a weak, I do not leave them laying around my house at work I use kleenex and papertowels and place in the trashcan in which gets emptyed on a daily basis. Again I aplogize if by any chance I came off extremly strong or offensive to anyone, please accept my deepest appologies. (any in-correct spellings/typo errors)

I saw that too. Can that be considered a violation of the HIPPA laws since this is a website dealing with medical issues. Maybe someone could start a disclaimer that we all can repost.

She also quoted me, and her response to me was that i no longer owned my words once I posted them in a forum ! the gall of such a woman ! and I posted a comment on her blog and she removed it, she does not want her readers to see what she has done.
