After being on this site for a couple of months, I have noticed NO evidence of anyone being harassed.
Unless it is being done by private message. Some of us do challenge one another somewhat at times, but that is a good thing I think. On the other hand if we are so sensitive that a simple dietary challenge is seen as being harassed, and only sweet unchallenging words are acceptable here, then this site is of little value to those of us who benefit and learn from being challenged a little.
My posts do not appear anymore and I can't figure out why. Only starting a discussion seems to work
Am I missing something? Grandma Rose

Rose thank you for saying that. I recently got reported. I now treat this person as if they no longer live on this planet. In other words the person is dead to me.

I read your post. I find them interesting. I may not read your articles or blog but that is my choice. I like the fact that you think outside the box, share information and do your best to educate people with experiences from life.

I think at times people with closed minds or those who can't think outside of the box are easily offended or think they are being harassed. I thought about leaving the site. Friends have asked me to stay but I ask myself is it worth it? I am sick and tired of people always reporting people because they don't like what someone said. Postings on this site is like watching TV or listening to the radio. If you read something that you don't like or it offends you, rather than report the person go to the next post.

People have to learn the most important lesson in life is that not everyone is going to like you, love you or care about you. There are people who can't stand looking at you, will refuse to speak or talk to you and these people could be your own family members. Friends come and go in your life. True friends stick with you through thick and thin. If friends leave, were they really your friend?

As for your post, it could be a glitch in the system. Ask admin and see what they say. I know people can block emails but they can't block posts. I am not sure if they can ask to have a posting removed from a discussion thread.

In my opinion if you need to constantly seek sympathy and attention, somewhere along the line your grew up but you never matured.

Hi Joyce,
As far as thinking outside the box. I have no box. Don't even know what is inside that box. I have always thought for myself and question everything.
The American Diabetes Association is in a box and they manage to get
many diabetics in their box. As far as I am concerned what they teach is
a long slow death sentence for those diabetics who question them not not.

I pay no attention to the American Diabetes Association. I also do not focus on diabetes or being diabetic because I have more fun an important things to do. I do what works for me not everyone else.

I agree, I don't focus on being diabetes myself either.
Because I teach healthy diet, I come in contact with many diabetics. I see the damage that is being done to them by the ADA and those that are required to teach their baloney. The ADA is an organization that most doctors belong to. So they promote the same stuff. It breaks my heart to have my students tell me about their heart disease, damaged nerves and all the medication they take. They need to lose weight, but the medications and high doses of insulin they are on causes weight gain, how can the lose weight? Many are taking statins and they don't even need them. They were given them simply because they are diabetics and the ADA says if you are diabetic, you have to take them.

Rosalie part of the problem is the diabetics. There are diabetics who DO NOT communicate with their doctors and are active participants in their health care. The doctor gives them medication and they take it without asking one question.

Commons sense also factors in. You see it on this site all the time. People have a medical problem or a problem with medications and instead of calling the doctor they ask on here. In the time it takes for them to get a response telling them to contact their doctors they could have done that.

People also fall for all kinds of cure diabetes scams and this causes them medical problems.

I follow the diet my dietitian gave me. I have food allergies so I can't eat a lot of fruits and some veggies and I can't eat nuts of any kind.

I am an active participant when it comes to my health care. I question my doctor and he knows I am not going to take anything I don't question. I use my phone to check on medications while we are discussing them. He told me he loves the fact that I do that and that I am not afraid to ask questions.

What I can't stand about them is they are always begging for money. They get government grants for research. They should be advocating for diabetics by trying to get pharmaceutical companies to lower the cost of testing equipment and making insurance companies pay for it.

In order to be a diabetic an survive with the least amount of problems you have to become a responsible diabetic an stop making everyone else responsible for your disease.

I couldn't agree more, many diabetics do not want to take responsibility for their health. I see it all the time. Many diabetics and non diabetics are not as able as you are. They question nothing an "expert" says. I have two sisters like that. They are unable to question. That is quite common among humans. The
ADA gives out false information about diet and the consequence of diabetic drugs. Those like my sisters (who are not diabetic) would follow to some degree the proper diet if they were given it. Their diabetic educators give out the same incorrect information. I know I can't take
care of all diabetics, they need to be willing to take care of themselves. But I will not be quiet about what the ADA and drug companies do to people for the almighty dollar.

I don't know much about this site..I have only been on a few weeks..but it seems like you have been put in a time out…For the life of me I don't understand why…people get offended and upset so easily…me I have a thick skin…Is there anyway for you to message the administration about this…maybe get an answer as to why you can not post…I have never read anything that you wrote that I found to be nasty..

RosalieM 2015-01-05 07:04:13 -0600 Report

In some cases I can post now. especially when replying to an individual.
I still have problems replying to discussions. Most people in my experience who are very easily offended, have low self esteem. Their opinion of themselves is so low that it doesn't take much to make themselves feel
bad. I try not to offend on purpose and if I do by accident, I repent and apologize to the person. It would be in their best interest to thicken their skin a little, or they will be very lonely as who wants to walk on eggshells
all the time for fear of an unintended offense.

Didn't know there was such a thing as a time out. I haven't been made to stand in the corner
since the nun at the school I went to, made me sit on the floor in the dark coat closet because I wet my pants.
Should wouldn't let me do to the bathroom. She also hit me on the fingers with a ruler because
I wrote with my left hand. I was four years old. That was 72 years ago.
Ever since I have been assertive. Nobody pushes me around. I think I am out of the corner now.

Jibber, this site use to be a whole lot of fun. It has changed. Some of the people who were my friends have left. People came and started reporting people because they didn't like what the person said. There were people who were so miserable with their own lives they deliberately started arguments an then reported people for the argument they started.

Like you, I cannot figure out why people get offended or upset easily. In this world today, you have to have a thick skin or you are going to spend a good deal of your time being upset or offended.

I play games on a website where you can play and chat at the same time. I often asked people why do you get mad with people you really don't know? It makes no sense.

At any rate, enjoy the rest of your day. I am going back to Facebook and torment my friends who are Steelers Fans. It is a blast after the Ravens beat them last night.
