Ty has been considered Diabetic since January but is just now facing the high sugars so he goes to the primary MD next week. He has IBS, just a time with him stomach, any suggestions on a suggestion of medication for a pill IF the MD chooses to put him on one? I take Metformin but most say how rough that is on the belly. He hit over the 500's now the other day and staying obove 200 lately. Thanks!

Thank you all for the advice, and yeah he also has the adic reflux going on too. I am not going to be able to go with him and he is not good with talking about things sometimes plus his memory..he's only 31 years old but I swear on his kuput..poor baby. He's amazing at some things but some just not so well…and I am 36 the 25th this month so I guess I kind of motherly him..ack hate to say that but its probably true. *sigh* He goes next Friday…I will let ya all know the results..thanks again. I,m sure the dr will make his own suggestions ,but if he is not willing to try insulin I have heard good things about Januvia. I have never been on it myself. I'm on insulin. Good luck to u both and let me know what happens.

If he is going to try pills, then make sure the dr have his kidneys checked. Some of the pills out there are hard on kidneys. Other than that, I also agree, insulin.

I second that choice…I have IBS and Acid Reflux, and Metafomin just messed my stomach up big time!!I take Lantus at bedtime, and the Endo is looking at allowing me to take it during the day as well, since it isn't working for the full 24 hours.
