SOme times our bodies are telling us things that the Doctors dont know about. I do know that my wife stopped taking one of her meds when she was standing over me thinking how much pressure would it take to choke me to stop me from snoring. It wasnt a Diabetic med, but Im sure am glad she stopped taking those. Some times, listening to your body is as important as listening to your doctor. Just dont not listen to both of them at the same time.

I stopped taking Actos without my MDs permission. It has caused me to gain so much weight!! I did discuss it with him and he got really angry. He said I wasn't a doctor and not to second guess him. I also discussed this with my heart doctor and he agreed with me. I am getting a new medical doctor next week. I am 5'0 and weigh 170 too much weight for knees & heart ect…
While I agree with you guys…This was my OWN personal decision. Don't do as I do, the end results may Not be the same.
(((hugs 2 all)))

I have stopped four of my meds. I stopped 1 blood pressure pill, still take three of them. I stopped evista for my bones.I stopped pravastin for cholesterol, because of the side effects.I stopped my depression pill. I have been off of these for a month. I am begining to feel much better. i can't help but believe so many chemicals in the body can't be good for you.I was on 18 meds. I still take all my diabetic drugs . I take four different ones.I would'nt reccommend this for any one else.

I have been telling this to people all the time. Let your doctor decide whether you need to change meds or go off them completely. Going off meds or changing meds without talking to your dr is very dangerous. This includes over the counter drugs, too.

I personally have never stopped a diabetic medication though when younger have stopped others without a doctor involved in the decision. I now know how dangerous it can be to stop certain medications so I am very careful with my medication. Sheila
