First, thank you all for the support throughout this struggle I have had with these wounds and at first freaking out about oh my goodness what is going on with my skin. I have some great news and not so great news. The great news is that one wound is total healed with new skin…just fresh so not totally fixed per say, the other just about there, only a tiny bit open still. Without the Wound Center, you all, and mainly my fiance Ty…my hero I call him I would be lost in so many ways but here his eyes and hands. He has done a suburb job and even a trying event over the weekend he did without their instructions…but they said he did what he was a great call, then taught him more. Anyhow I struggle with exercise, weight, etc. Ty has been getting me out regular (before this pain clinic mess with these fentnyl patches( I was doing it, going out and actually proud of myself for something!) Anyhow being heavy and big thighs rubbing of course the frication I had a sore area Ty overlooked and by his eyes I knew deep down what he though and yes they said it IS indeed a new one! So I cry and ask…is this my life now, having these all the time?…she says basically yeah…that summer is worse but those areas of most or the rubbing…so yeah got me said…like she said catch 22…exercise to loose weight for health reasons yet develop wounds which are health concerns…sucks…*sigh* Sorry so long, just letting it out I suppose. But again thanks to all of you! Love alwaysss Sheila

That's great news girlie! I am sorry for the pain that neuropathy is causing. It sounds like those "bad" spots on your rump cleared really well. Sorry you still have a few more areas to tend to. You and Ty are a good team, I'm glad you have each other friend. Love n hugs, Angie

Hey all, guess what!!! NO MORE ON MY BOTTOM!! YAY!! lol I do have one between the legs, and two more to watch at…not really quite holes though. So, I FINALLY get to shower instead of a bed bath…I was exhausted yesterday that I did not do it yet and I am cleaning now so afterwards I am jumping in…also have to wait for Ty to wake…theres that press and seal they referred me to use on the one so I can do it and I need his help. It's been rough, I was at the ER the night before for my leg pain…neuropathy they pretty much said…I was worried of blood clots cuz if was so painful and different. I am on a higher dose of Lipitor and dunno if I should be using it or not…so lost. Anyhow, thanks everyone!! Love yassssssssss! Sheila

Hi Sheila, glad to hear that some have cleared up for you.Sorry to hear that you found a new one. Oh I know about that rubbing. It may sound funny but I had a friend years ago who used to wear tube tops on each of her legs to try to prevent the rub. I used to put desitin for babies and that worked the best !!! Leave it on over night and sometimes I would wake up and the pain would be gone.I hope you find some relief soon and know that you are not alone. The weight struggle just makes it all so much harder. Hang in there.
Hugs dyanne

Tube top is a great idea. My husband use to wear those fitted shorts (like the jammers that swimmers wear) under his shorts while exerciseing. While the fitted shorts alone was not a pretty sight it really helped with the rubbing!

Been there, done that. I was having a lot of trouble with sores while I was loosing weight. Everytime my thighs rubbed together I got a new spot and had to lay off the exercise for a while. Found out that cornstarch did help but what worked even better …don't laugh too hard now..was to use Diaper rash cream on my legs and powder down before I began to exercise. My thighs still rubbed but they had a little isulation there to keep the skin from getting chafed. I still have some recurring spots on my upper thighs where the weight won't come off…urgh! But the main part of my thighs are now sore free. Good luck and let Ty now that he's absolutely wonderful. Does he have a brother? LOL

I use A&D Ointment for the itching/burning of a yeast infection, the tender spots that develop on my bottom (not much padding to begin with back there and I've lost 100 pounds). It's a miracle worker! My doctor's nurse told me about it (she's been a Type 1 Diabetic since age 3).

hi sheila glad to here about your sores. try rubbing cornststch on the parts that rub it some times helps see if this works. take a cotton ball and some cornstarch and pat the area hope this will help you from chafeing.

Hi Sheila. I'm so glad most of the news is good for you. It sounds like both you and Ty have a good system going. Tell Ty not to feel bad for missing a sore area. It sounds like you have a pretty good nurse there! :-) I hope you don't have to go through this over and over. Keep the faith and maybe you won't. Just get these healed and maybe they will be gone soon. Let me know if I can do anything for you. Love n hugs, Angie
