I have been taking Novolog for about 8 maybe 9 years and it does nothing. I can take it and eat the correct amount of carbs and instead of going down it goes up. Now that I am on a pump and taking 2.9 an hour you would think it would go down, but it goes up. Every time I bolous it goes up. Now my endo is thinking of maybe switching to Apidra. I have never taken it and have no clue how it will effect me. They did not want to start me out on this because they said a lot of people do not respond to good to this. It is number 3 on the list. Novolog- Humolog- then Apidra. Well I have tried the logs so I am hoping I will respond to the apidra. Any experiences with apidra pump or not.

I had to switch from Apidra to Novolog due to insurance refusing to pay $795. I have been on Apidra for about 4 years now on a pump. Now I am on Novolog and nothing is going down. According to my doctors, I had to be a diabetic as a child and it went unnoticed until I was in my mid to late 30's. If the insulin is working fine, don't mess with it. Are the logs not doing their job and so they drop the price so we, who are dependent on them, required to take them? If I had money of my own to spend on medicine I would not take the logs, I would stay with the Apidra.

Thank you. I am thinking if there is no difference that maybe this just may work with my body better. Humalog and novolog has never. Pills does not want to so maybe this might be the thing.

My doctor usually supplies me with the insulin I need. He routinely switches between the 2 & I really do not see much of a difference.
