Isn't glucose control easier if I eat the same things every day?

Doesn't always work. I did it for almost 8 years, and it didn't give me good control (A1c at the time averaged 9.4).

Different things work differently for different people. It's a thing you can try, but it may not help.

When you asked if its easier to just eat the same, maybe for the healthy way of looking at it…like they said above bu I would think it was harder cuz eatting the SAME things to me would get blah. But that's just me! Good luck! Sheila

Not necessarily. Variety seems to be the most effective. It is most important to watch your carbs and total caloric intake. When did you last attend Diabetic education? maybe it is time for a review. For me these work the best and I drink lots of water. Exercise is important and I walk, my goal is to walk and or exercise three times a week. I have good A1Cs, last one was 5.6

Eat the exact same food at the exact same time on two different days and get two different reading. Diabetes can be soooooo much fun!

Yes it is, provided that the things you eat are low carb and they don't tend to raise your blood sugar very quickly after you have eaten. A consistent day-to-day schedule with eating at the same times of day, eating the same numbers of carbs at corresponding times, exercising tghe same amount at the same times, etc will make blood sugar easier to control. This is, however, almost impossible to do. I cannot do this, my schedule varies greatly. I know a man who is not married and has no children. He has a fixed schedule and he never varies that schedule except for types of food. His number of carbs varies very little, his exercise is always the same. He eats an average of 90 grams of carbs per day. His A1c is 5.3 and he has lost almost all of his overweight during the past 15 months. His blood sugar stays between 80 and 100 about 90% of the time. He is Type 2 and I do not know another person with control that good. My control would probably be almost as good if my schedule was that consistent but I would find that schedule very boring. I do have some consistencies but there is variation in my schedule too. My A1c is 5.6 and I stay between 70 and 130 about 90% of the time but I do have occasional highs and lows. Yesterday I had a 42. That is very unusual for me. Last week I had a 184. That is very rare for me but it does happen. My friend never has those highs and lows because his schedule is so well regulated and consistent.

I put (perhaps to my considerable detriment) rigid consistency in the impossible, this is not quality of life category. So medical people may call me "noncompliant", but I have to live my life (with its extremely variable schedule) and eat my extremely varied diet (because I am a foodie and love to explore different cultures through their foods and cooking methods). This attitude and these practises do result on occassion in elevated blood sugars. I may die of the complications of diabetes because I did not adhere to a rigidly consistent diet and exercise program to control my blood sugars adequately and I will have no one to blame but myself, but hopefully I will die happy having truly lived. And perhaps when I am dust to dust, the new dust will be free of diabetes. Whew! Had no idea that was going to come out! LOL
