Saw Doctor yesterday and my meds are not working now. I've got 2 choices.useing a pin called B.ydureon or a pill called farxiga…I have studied up on both and I think I'm going with the pin. Both of these are new. Of coarse I'll still do my diet and exercise

Howdy Rhett
If the choice were mine to make, I would opt for the Bydureon.for it has been available longer and Farxiga is relatively new and untested on the larger population of people with diabetes.

Here are some cautions about Bydureon:

"To make sure this medicine is safe for you, tell your doctor if you have:

•kidney disease or a history of kidney transplant;

•problems with digestion;

•a history of pancreatitis or gall stones;

•a history of alcoholism; or

•a history of high triglycerides (a type of fat in blood)".

source: ~ http://www.drugs.com/bydureon.html.

Neither one would be my choice, however as I have kidney disease and need dialysis as the Farxinga is said to use the kidneys to excrete excess glucose in the bloodstream. I doubt my kidneys could handle that.

I pray you have no such issues with you If you do, then you may need to return to the Dr to have other medication Rx'd for you.

James
