Today is Thanksgiving in the US. For me, a very special day.
I'm breaking tradition, I'm not going with all the food, I've made a conscious decision that I don't want to face all of the favorite foods right now, so I'm spending the day with a great friend and watching movies and sharing one slice of pumpkin pie.
The other thing I'm doing today is being very conscious of things I am thankful for.
I'm especially thankful for my family, including my fourlegged family, my dog and cat.
I'm just wondering what things other people are thankful for this Thanksgiving day.
Happy Thanksgiving.
Heidi

That today isn't a reason for being Thankful 364 days of the year. Just like being patriotic for 3 days out of 365 days or so of the year for that holidays really? Now here come Christmas…? Just a thought. I am seriously thankful for all of you on here being my friends, my supporters and can I say butt kickers LOL Hugs to one and all

I am thankful, Heidi, for God's great gift of eternal life because Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead on the 3rd day and will be coming again to take me and all believers home to be with Him forever in heaven.

I am thankful for my ladylove, my fiancee Valentine lady although sad I cannot be with her today.

I am thankful for my family in Las Vegas with whom I will be sharing Thanksgiving dinner at Cheesecake factory this afternoon.

I am thankful that my mom is still with us. I plan to talk to her today!

I am thankful for this forum in which to share my blessings with all who read this.

With a greatful heart

James

This is the true heart of the holiday. Being with people you love and appreciate. Doing the things you enjoy. I hope the movies are good and the tissues are handy (you have to watch at least one tear jerker. LOL)

Things that I am grateful for are the people in my life. Family and friend alike, who help me on my journey and who hopefully I touch as well. The universe has taught me a lot and has also blessed me and mine with the things we need so that we can truly appreciate the things we have. I am always thankful that it seems to be one step ahead of disaster for us and provides way beyond our control.

I am also especially grateful for all of you here who have become my friends and teachers. This community keeps diabetes on my mind, and without you I would be one of those who just lives like I used to, ignoring my diagnosis. You guys save me every day, and I thank you for that.
