Haha, I don't want to gross anyone out but I'm a one of those hairy fellows. I finally got my pump, I went with the medtronic mInimed 530G. I love it, but I have a question, what do some of you men do with the hair thing? Do you shave little spots for the infusion set or what?

Howdy Allen
I don't have a problem with my hairy belly (although sometimes when I go to the ER Dept I get assorted stickers and tapes all over my body and removing those can literally be a pain.)

My problem is I have a fistula in my left arm (it is where an artery and vein are grafted together to provide an easier access to the bloodstream for hemodialysis needles).

I am really a hairy guy and I must shave my lower left arm or removal of tape can be painful. (I joke that "if I believed in macroevolution I would be one generation away from being an ape".)

I have bought a "NoNo" hair removal system but it does not operate well. It never has, so I occasionally use my electric shaver to remove the hair on that part of my arm. (BTW the NoNo works by burning the hair off by use of a hot wire. So it will stink like burning hair so be warned if you are sensitive to that)

This is one of those little things that many hairless people never really think of as being a problem, but I can attest that it is a difficulty we hairy people suffer in silence. Thanks for speaking up and asking, Allen.

Praying improving health for us all

James

Sounds like time to buy a 'Nono" hair removal device. LOL

I had never thought about that, but I imagine it's more of a problem than most realize.
