I have started back to using Regular Sugar for my Coffee and Tea only I don't sweetened them as much.
The ""SPLENDA"" sweeter have been become extremely expensive for my daily use. Although I have bought other alternative store brand sweeteners as well, they all at some point or another become economically costly. Any suggestions?

Howdy Oink
I used to drink sodas which had Splenda (Sucralose) in it. After I drank more than two I got explosive diaharrea after a couple of hours. When I finally figured it out I stopped drinking that nasty stuff.

I have just learned to drink my coffee and tea without sweetener. Just a matter of getting my taste buds acclimated to the taste. But I rarely drink coffee and tea anymore. I drink water filtered through a Brita filter bottle for most of my liquid consumption.

Praying for improving health for you

I guess it depends on how much coffee and tea you drink daily, for me I just don't like splenda and I still but the pink stuff (sweet n low) but I may have 1-2 cups of tea a month. My morning beverage of choice is still diet pepsi, which I have cut down on and started drinking a lot more water. I am a type 1 so I am on insulin, I see you are a type 2 so I guess it depends on how you control your blood sugars and what your Doctor or dietician has to say. Good luck to you.

One measured teaspoon of sugar contains 4 grams of carbohydrate. The American Diabetes Association recommends to pay attention to the amount of sugar you use, and also monitor your blood sugar levels to see how it affects you. Learning to gradually use less of any type of sweetener is a great idea. ~Lynn @Glucerna

The cheapest place I have seen Splenda is at Wal-Mart. I don't use it because it upsets my stomach so I buy Equal. For the past month 2 months I have gotten boxes with $1.00 off coupons and I buy two boxes at a time which gives me 500 packets. I can get a box of 1000 at Sams Club for about 8 bucks when they have them. Under no circumstances do I use real sugar in coffee or tea.
