This question is for those of you taking metformin hcl er 500mg. If you're taking 2 tablets in the morning and 2 tablets at bedtime, and your doctor adds 2 more tablets to your day - when do you take them? My doc doesn't really take much time with discussion, so I'm just wondering what works best for some of you? (Please, no comments about the doc - thanks.)

Thanks for any input, Connie

I take Metformin once a day and I take it with my evening meal. Why can't you take it with breakfast and dinner? Your doctor really can't give you at time to take your medication. That is usually something patients figure out on their own. I have one pill I take 3 times per day so I take it after breakfast, lunch and dinner.
