My husband went to the doctor and found out he has the flu and I believe my son might have it too . I have had the pneumonia shot , am I pretty safe from getting to sick ? Also does anyone out there take Gabapinten and experience muscle pain in the arms ?

I have lung problems and have to "try" to avoid people who are sick. That is not always possible. I am on different meds for different medical issues and I make it a point that I talk with my doctors office before I take anything. With having heart arrhythmia I have to be especially careful what I take.

No one can tell you if you are safe from getting sick. You have to practice clean hygiene and wash your hands and keep the sick room as sanitary as possible.

The best thing you can do to keep from getting the flu is to wash your hands after touching anything your family has touched. Sing "Happy Birthday" two times while using soap and don't forget your thumb when washing. A pneumonia shot is not going to protect you from the flu.

The other thing you might want to do is ask your doctor for a prescription of Tamaflu so you will have it on hand if you feel you might be coming down with it. It only works if you take it within the first 24-48 hours of a flu. There is a slightly less expensive version of it that is older, I forget the name, but your doctor will know.

Keep active, eat healthy and supplement if you need to. Stay well!

I am glad I don't take medical advice from people on line who are not doctors. not everyone can take Tamaflu and should first talk to their DOCTORS about the medication prior to asking for it.

I said for her to ask the doctor for a prescription. I would presume you would have a conversation about it before getting it. My doctor doesn't give me medicines without seeing me in person.
