Hi DC Fam…My Wife just got her first RX for lyrica. Is it one of those types or meds that has to have a level built up before it is really effective?

Also, does she still take neurontrin?

And yes, as soon as her DR OPENS, I am going to call!

You probably already talked with the md but just my input on Lyrica. I LOVE IT! It's my wonder drug. I have had serious issues with neuropathy and wow what a difference this made. I don't recall the length of time it took for me to see the results though. I use to be neuronton… 3600 mgs of it at that…so yeah I have faced this darned nerve crap a while. I HIGHLY doubt she should be taking both though. How much did she get put on out of curiosity? If you don't mind. I am on 200mg 3x day…It is the maximum dose too. Well good luck with it please let her know I said!! Love yassss Sheila

I was on Lyriaca for a while, and, yes, it takes a while to build up. Unfortunately, I didn't notice a difference with it, so I went off it after 3 months. I also didn't notice a difference with the neurontin in 4 months' time. They were both for nerve pain (from a car accident many years ago) and migraines. I'm not sure about the two of them together! I hope your wife finds relief with them!

I have been on it for about three months, I notice a difference right away, although I take mine twice a day,,, So that might have something to do with it,, Good luck and I hope that it works for your wife,
