Drinking more water

I have noticed that I drink more water after being put on insulin versus when I was on the oral meds before. I have never been a fan of just plain water. I might drink a glassful a month. I am now keeping bottled water in the fridge and reaching for it instead of tea or other drinks.

Btw, I was an RC Cola fan myself. I sure miss it. Sometimes when I'm out with one of my girls, I'll take a hit off their soda, but just a mouthful or 2. It satisfies me and then I can drink what I'm supposed to.

I find I m just the opposite. I drank lots of water before being diagnosed. Now I want something with flavor in it. Of course I was working before, and am now retired. It was easier to just have bottled water with me at work. Now,being home all the time, I just don't buy bottled water. Water is still my bedtime drink tho.

Your sugar can jump for any reason. Stress, eating to much carbs, sick or body out of wack. Just get back on the horse.

Good for you. Water is the best thing we can drink, so you are doing something good for yourself.

You have a great idea to keep water in the fridge to make it easier to drink water than other beverages. Have you tried flavoring water with fresh lime or lemon? ~Lynn @Glucerna

I have tried a few of flavored water but haven't tried flavoring water myself. My taste buds have changed so I will be trying new things and stopping other things that just don't appeal to me anymore.

My favorite is Dr Pepper. I had made a deal with my doctor back in 2008 that I would keep my sugar under control but I would not give up my beloved Dr Pepper. I did real good until a change of meds sent everything outta whack. I still won't drink anything diet but have backed off the sodas.

Bre, I used to love Dr Pepper with cherry in it (got it from a fountain in a convenience store near where I lived) But now I am not supposed to drink it due to my Kidney disease since it contains phosphoric acid. My kidneys will not clean excess phosphorus from my blood so I don't drink it (or any other cola drinks) anymore. Drat!

Now I drink from a Brita filter water bottle (cuts down on the chlorine and the water bottle waste)
